Leaving Certificate with 5 passe or Leaving Cert Applied. Mature students will be considered based on a proven interest in the caring profession. Entry may be subject to interview/assessment & depends on satisfactory completion of an induction programme & Garda Vetting.

| Course Structure |

| Work Experience within a variety of caring situations forms an integral part of the course. Minimum of six weeks duration in one setting. |

| Career Options/Progression |
|
|
Holders of a FETAC (NCVA) Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support may progress to further study at Institutes of Technology/Universities. Alternatively you may directly enter employment within the caring profession as a nurse's aide, care assistant or special care assistant. This course can also enhance your qualifications and career prospects if you are an existing care worker. This qualification is recognised by the Health Service Executive and the Dept of Health for Healthcare Assistants. |
