Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate with 5 passes, Leaving Certificate Applied. Mature students will be considered based on a proven interest in ecology/water management. Entry may be subject to interview/assessment

Duration    

One Year - Full Time Study
Two Years - Part Time Study (min 4 modules per year)

   
     
Course Structure    
Practical field studies and lab work will form an integral part of the course and may take place at a number of locations including Ballybay Wetlands Centre and Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre. A minimum of 10 days Work Placement must be completed.    
Career Options/Progression    
Holders of a FETAC (NCVA) Level 5 Award in Applied Ecology may progress to further studies on selected courses at Institutes of Technology/Universities. Alternatively you may enter employment in fields such as forestry, fisheries, park management, water resource mgt, agriculture etc
   
     
Evaluation    
Your course wil be evaluated by practical and written examination, project work and assignments.
