Leaving Certificate with 5 passe, preferalby to include Biology or Leaving Cert Applied. Mature students will be considered based on a proven interest in animal welfare. Entry may be subject to interview/assessment.

| Focus is placed on animal health, science & welfare related subjects.. Pratical sessions in animal care will form an integral part of the course. A minimum of 10 days work placement must be completed. You will have to purchase protective clothing. |

Holder of the FETAC L5 Award in Applied Science - Animal Care may progress to futher study at Institutes of Technology/Universities in a range of science related areas or directly enter employment as veterinary assistants. |
