MIFET MATTERS
Israeli Ambassadors visit: Staff from Monaghan Institute were honoured to host a visit from the Israeli Ambassador, Zion Evrony and his wife Rita last week. Ambassador Evrony has taught International Relations as a visiting scholar at the Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University and the Open University in Israel. He is interested in forging links between education providers in Ireland and Israel and in the developing tourism between the two countries. All found the meeting very interesting and beneficial.

Work Experience: Many MIFET students are currently on work placement in various companies/service providers throughout Co Monaghan and beyond. Thanks to the employers in Offices, Hair & Beauty Salons, Leisure Centres, Veterinary Practices, Engineering Workshops, Childcare & Healthcare settings etc who have accommodated students for this most valuable aspect of their course.
SkillVEC: Three Level 5 modules were provided last term for Health Service Executive staff on a part time basis. Work Experience was completed in September. Infection Prevention & Control and Communications finished in January. Two further modules will begin this week.
At the national SkillVEC Graduation ceremony held in Dublin in November, there were a number of students from the Monaghan group in attendance. This was the second cohort of students nationally that had attained full awards in Health Service Skills under this joint VEC/HSE programme.
